On the Ashtami Tithi of the Krishna Paksha during the Hindu month of Kartika, Kalabhairav Jayanti is celebrated.
It is devoted to Lord Shiva’s dreadful avatar, Lord Kala Bhairav. The Hindu God of Time Kaal Bhairav’s birth anniversary is commemorated on this day. For devotees of Lord Shiva, this day is therefore of utmost importance. Due to the devotion of these days to Lord Kala Bhairav, it is thought that this day is more fortunate when observed on a Tuesday or Sunday. Kala Bhairav Ashtami and Maha Kala Bhairava Ashtami are other names for it.
