Professional Background
Dr. Ken Marshall is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Vice Chair of Clinical Operations in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Assistant Director of the Cates Medical Society at the School of Medicine, and Affiliate Professor in the Department of the History and Philosophy of Medicine.
Dr. Marshall received his medical degree as well as a graduate degree in philosophy from Georgetown University in Washington DC, and proceeded to complete his Emergency Medicine residency at the Harvard Affliliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Marshall has won multiple teaching awards, both from Harvard/Beth Israel and KUMC. He has received grants from the Greenwall foundation to study ethical issues involving consent to care after naloxone resuscitation, and from the University of Kansas Health System to study and optimize patient flow in the Emergency Department.
