Research
Overview
Dr. Katz has expertise in the design and execution of observational research, hands-on facilitation of data linkage from disparate data sources (e.g., cancer registry, patient-reported surveys, administrative claims, electronic health records, and clinical research datasets), and analysis of linked datasets to evaluate the utilization, comparative effects, and resultant costs of care.
Dr. Katz has broad research interests in understanding the comparative effectiveness of therapies, identifying and addressing underlying causes of disparities in access to and receipt of guideline-recommended care, and developing solutions to improve processes of care and treatment decisions - all with the underlying goal of improving humanistic and clinical outcomes for patients.
